UPSC CAPF 2020- The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct a written test, named CAPF (ACs) Exam 2020 in offline mode on August 9, 2020. The Commission will release the CAPF 2020 notification and application form on April 22, 2020. The last date to apply for UPSC CAPF Exam 2020 on May 12, 2020. Male and Female candidates of age between 20 to 25 years are eligible to apply for UPSC CAPF 2020. UPSC CAPF 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should satisfy all the eligibility conditions before applying online for CAPF exam 2020.

  • Nationality- Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for the examination.
  • Sex- Both Male and Female candidates are eligible for UPSC CAPF 2020.
  • Age Limit (on 1 August 2020)- A candidate’s age must be between 20 years to 25 years, i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than August 2, 1995 and after August 1, 2020. Relaxation is an upper age limit is applicable to listed categories
  • Minimum Educational Qualifications– A candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree from recognized educational institutions or universities.

UPSC CAPF 2020 Age Relaxation-

  • Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe Candidates- 05 years
  • Other Backward Classes Candidates- 03 years
  • Civilian Central Government Servants/ Ex-Servicemen Candidates- 05 Years
  • If a candidate had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1 January 1980 to 31 December 1989- 05 Years

The online application form of CAPF 2020 will be released on the official website of UPSC from April 22 to May 12, 2020. The commission will not accept any hard copy of the application form at their postal address. Steps to Apply Online for UPSC CAPF 2020

  • Visit the Official website, upsconline.nic.in or click the above-given link (to be activated after the official release)
  • Read all the instructions provided before filling the CAPF 2020 application form.
  • Fill the application form with correct details
  • Upload the scanned images of Photograph and signature.
  • Pay the application fee online or by Cash
  • Recheck the entered details and Click the “Submit” tab
  • Download a copy of the confirmation for future use.

UPSC CAPF 2020 Application Fee

Candidates have to remit a CAPF application fee of Rs. 200/- either by depositing CASH in any Branch of SBI, or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore. Female/SC/ST candidates are exempted from the payment of the fee.

UPSC CAPF 2020 Selection Process

The selection of eligible candidates will be based on their performance in written test followed by Physical Efficiency Test and an interview. Candidates who qualify each stage of the selection process will be recruited to the post of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). Below are the stage of CAPF selection process 2020

Stage-1- Written Examination

  • The written UPSC CAPF 2020 exam is scheduled to be held on August 9, 2020. 
  • The exam will comprise two papers, Paper-1 & Paper-2. 
  • Both the papers will be conducted in English and Hindi languages. 
  • In this paper-2, candidates will be allowed the option of writing the Essay Component in English or Hindi, but the medium of Precis Writing, Comprehension Components and other communications/ language skills will be English only.

Stage-3- Interview/Personality Test

Candidates who are declared qualified in the written exam and Physical Efficiency Tests, will be called for Interview/Personality Test. The Interview/Personality Test will carry 150 Marks. Medically unfit candidates who are allowed to appear before the “Review Medical Board” on their appeal by the Appellate Authority will be provisionally called for Interview/Personality Tests.

UPSC CAPF 2020 Syllabus

Paper I- General Ability and Intelligence- In this section, questions will be asked on the below-mentioned topics. The question paper will consist of multiple choice questions.

  1. General Mental Ability
  2. General Science
  3. Current Events of National and International Importance
  4. Indian Polity and Economy
  5. History of India
  6. Indian and World Geography

Paper II- General Studies, Essay and Comprehension

Part-A – Essay (80 Marks)- Answers should be provided in long narrative form either in Hindi or English. The topics include freedom struggle, Indian History, geography, knowledge of security, polity and economy, and analytical ability and human rights issues.

Part-B – Comprehension, précis writing, other communications/language skills – (Marks 120) – The topics are Comprehension passages, developing counter arguments, précis writing, simple grammar and other aspects of language testing.

UPSC CAPF 2020 Admit Card

The admit card of CAPF 2020 will be released online on the official website of the Commission 03 weeks prior to the examination. It is estimated that the admit card will be made available in the last week of July 2020. Candidates will need their registration number and date of birth to download the UPSC CAPF admit card 2020.

UPSC CAPF 2020 Result

The UPSC CAPF result 2020 will be declared online. The result will be declared in the form of pdf file that contains the roll number of the selected candidates. The shortlisted candidates will be called to appear in the personality test and medical test.
