UPSC CAPF 2019– The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct a written test, named CAPF (ACs) Exam 2019 for recruitment to the post of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) viz. Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). The written test will be held on 18 August 2019. The Commission has released the CAPF 2019 notification and online registration form on 24 April 2019. UPSC CAPF 2019 Eligibility Criteria

The CAPF Eligibility comprises below-mentioned terms. Candidates should satisfy all condition before applying online for CAPF 2019 Examination.

  • Nationality– Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for the examination.
  • Sex– Both Male and Female candidates are eligible for UPSC CAPF Exam 2019.
  • Age Limit (on 1 August 2019)- A candidate’s age must have been between 20 years to 25 years, i.e. he/she must have been born not before than 2 August 1994 and after than 1 August 1999. Relaxation is an upper age limit is applicable to listed categories
  • Minimum Educational Qualifications- A candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree from recognized educational institutions or universities.

CAPF Age Relaxation-

  • Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe Candidates- 05 years
  • Other Backward Classes Candidates- 03 years
  • Civilian Central Government Servants/ Ex-Servicemen Candidates- 05 Years
  • If a candidate had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1 January 1980 to the 31 December 1989- 05 Years

UPSC CAPF 2019 Application Form

The online application form of CAPF 2019 has been released on the official website of UPSC from 24 April to 20 May 2019. The commission will not accept any hard copy of the application form at their postal address. Steps to Apply Online for UPSC CAPF 2019

  • Visit the Official website, or click the above-given link (to be activated after the official release)
  • Read all the instructions provided before filling the CAPF 2018 application form.
  • Fill the application form with correct details
  • Upload the scanned images of Photograph and signature.
  • Pay the application fee online or by Cash
  • Recheck the entered details and Click the “Submit” tab
  • Download a copy of the confirmation for future use.

CAPF 2019 Application Fee

Candidates have to remit a CAPF application fee of Rs. 200/- either by depositing CASH in any Branch of SBI, or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore. Female/SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of the fee.

UPSC CAPF 2019 Selection Process

Candidates need to qualify each stage of the selection process in order to get recruited to the post of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). The stages of the selection processes are the Written Exam, Physical Test and Personal Interview.

Stage-1- Written Examination– The written CAPF 2019 exam is scheduled to be held on 18 August 2019 and will comprise two papers, Paper-1 & Paper-2. Both the papers will be conducted in English and Hindi languages. In this paper-2, candidates will be allowed the option of writing the Essay Component in English or Hindi, but the medium of Precis Writing, Comprehension Components and other communications/ language skills will be English only. Stage-3- Interview/Personality Test

Candidates who are declared qualified in the written exam and Physical Efficiency Tests, will be called for Interview/Personality Test. The Interview/Personality Test will carry 150 Marks. Medically unfit candidates who are allowed to appear before the “Review Medical Board” on their appeal by the Appellate Authority will be provisionally called for Interview/Personality Tests.

UPSC CAPF Syllabus 2019

Paper I- General Ability and Intelligence- In this section, questions will be asked on the below-mentioned topics. The question paper will consist of multiple choice questions.

  1. General Mental Ability
  2. General Science
  3. Current Events of National and International Importance
  4. Indian Polity and Economy
  5. History of India
  6. Indian and World Geography

Paper II- General Studies, Essay and Comprehension

Part-A – Essay (80 Marks)- Answers should be provided in long narrative form either in Hindi or English. The topics include freedom struggle, Indian History, geography, knowledge of security, polity and economy, and analytical ability and human rights issues.

Part-B – Comprehension, précis writing, other communications/language skills – (Marks 120) – The topics are Comprehension passages, developing counter arguments, précis writing, simple grammar and other aspects of language testing.

UPSC CAPF 2019 Admit Card

The admit card of CAPF 2019 will be released online on the official website of the Commission 03 weeks prior to the examination. It is estimated that the admit card will be made available in the last week of July 2019. Candidates will need their registration number and date of birth to download the admit card.

UPSC CAPF 2019 Result

The CAPF result will be declared online. The result will be declared in the form of pdf file that contains the roll number of the selected candidates. The shortlisted candidates will be called to appear in the personality test and medical test.
