IAS 2018- Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the official notification of UPSC IAS Prelims 2018, also called as Civil Services Prelims 2018 on 07 February 2018. The commission will hold the Civil Services Prelims 2018 on 03 June 2018 for recruitment to the approximately 732 Posts under Central Government. Candidates who qualify the prelims examination will be able to take the main exam to be conducted in October 2018. Aspirants need to check the eligibility conditions prior to apply for the IAS Prelims Examination. The online registration process has been commenced from 07 February 2018 and candidates can apply till 06 March 2018 through online website of UPSC. The Civil Services Recruitment process will be completed in 03 phases i.e Preliminary Written Test, Mains Written Exam and Personality Test/ Interview. IAS Eligibility Criteria 2018

Nationality-

(1) For the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS), a candidate should be an Indian Citizen.

(2) For other services,

Candidate must be either: — (a) an Indian Citizen, or

  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India prior to 1 January, 1962 with the intention to settle in India, or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, East African countries of Kenya, Burma, Sri Lanka, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Ethiopia, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. Provided further that candidates belonging to categories (b), (c) and (d) above will not be eligible for appointment to the Indian Foreign Service. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary, may be admitted to the examination, but the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him/her by the Government of India.

Age Limits (as on 1 August 2018)- Candidate’s age must fall between 21 years to 32 years i.e. he/she must have been born not before than 2 August 1986 and not after than 1 August 1997.

Relaxation in upper age limit will be provided as below-

  • Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe- 05 Years
  • Other Backward Classes- 03 Years
  • Candidate’s had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from the 1 January 1980 to 31 December 1989- 05 Years
  • In the case of Defence Services personnel disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof- 03 Years
  • Ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service as on 1 August 2018- 05 Years
  • In the case of ECOs/SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment of five years Military Service as on 1 August 2018 and whose assignment has been extended beyond five years- 05 Years

Minimum Educational Qualifications- The candidate must possess a graduate degree of any of the recognized universities.

IAS Application Form 2018

Candidates who will satisfy all the eligibility criteria can apply online through the UPSC’s Official Website. Candidates need to follow the mentioned steps to apply for UPSC Civil Services Exam 2018.

  • Visit the official website UPSC or click the above-provided link
  • Read the mentioned instruction carefully
  • Fill all the personal and academic details in the required spaces
  • Submit the prescribed application fee either by net-banking, e-challan form or by using any Visa/Master Credit/ Debit Card
  • Upload the recent scanned copy of passport size photograph and signature of specified dimensions
  • Click “Submit” to fill the application form of IAS 2018
  • Take the print copy of the Confirmation page

Note- Before starting filling up of the Online Application, a candidate must have duly scanned copy of a passport size photograph and signature in the jpg format that should not be exceeded 40 KB and must not be below than 3 KB in size for the photograph and 1 KB for the signature.

Application Fee– The candidates need to pay an application fee of Rs. 100/- Rupees One Hundred only) either by depositing the amount in any branch of the State Bank of India (SBI) by cash, or by using the net banking facility of the State Bank of India/State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/ State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using any Visa/Master Credit/ Debit Card. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/ Female/Physically Handicapped categories are exempted from payment of fee.

IAS Admit Card 2018

The admit card of UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2018 will be issued 03 weeks prior to the commencement of the examination. The direct link to access the e-admit card will be uploaded on the official web portal of the UPSC. Candidates can also check this page to download the same. To download UPSC Civil Services Admit Card 2018, candidates will need their registration number or roll number along with the date of birth.

IAS Result 2018

UPSC Civil Services 2018 Result will be announced after one month from the commencement of the prelims examination. Candidates who will qualify the preliminary exam will be called to appear in the main examination. Civil Services Main Exam 2018 will be held in October 2018. Candidates who will attain the IAS Cutoff will be called to appear in Interview/ Personality test.
