UPSC CDS Eligibility Criteria 2019– Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will release the official notification of UPSC Combined Defence Services Examination (I) 2019 on 31 October 2018. UPSC will release the CDS 2019 eligibility criteria along with the official notification. Candidates should check the CDS eligibility criteria before filling the form. CDS I 2019 will be held on 03 February 2019 to get admission in Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officer’s Training Academy. Only eligible candidates can apply for the examination, hence it is mandatory for all the applicants to read the eligibility norms, precisely, before filling the CDS-1 Application Form 2019. UPSC CDS Eligibility Criteria 2019- Nationality
Aspirants must possess any of the following nationalities
(a) Indian Citizenship, or
(b) A subject of Nepal, or
(c) A subject of Bhutan, or
(d) A Tibetan refugee who migrated to India before 1 January 1962 for residing permanently in India, or
(e) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Srilanka or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or from Vietnam for residing permanently in India.
Candidate applying under categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) must possess a certificate of eligibility, issued by the Government of India.
UPSC CDS Eligibility Criteria 2019- Age Limit & Sex
(i) For IMA: Unmarried male candidates born between 02 January 1996 to 01 January 2001
(ii) For Indian Naval Academy: Unmarried male candidates born between 02 January 1996 to 01 January 2001
(iii) For Air Force Academy: Unmarried male candidates age between 20-24 years as on 01 January 2019 (born between 02 January 1996 to 01 January 2001).
(iv) For Officers’ Training Academy (SSC Course for Men): Male candidates (married or unmarried) born between 02 January 1995 to 01 January 2001.
(v) For Officers Training Academy (SSC Women Non-Technical Course): Unmarried Women, issueless widows, and issueless divorcees (in possession of divorce documents) who have not remarried can also apply and should have born earlier than 02 January 1996 and not after than 01 January 2001.
Note: Male divorcee/widower candidates should not be treated as unmarried, hence they are not eligible for admission in IMA/INA/AFA courses.
UPSC CDS Eligibility Criteria 2019- Educational Qualification
(i) For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy- Candidates must have aGraduate Degree from a recognized University/ Institute or equivalent.
(ii) For Indian Naval Academy- Candidates must have a Graduate Degree in Engineering from a recognized University/ Institution.
(iii) For Air Force Academy- Candidates must have a Graduate Degree or Bachelor of Engineering from a recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level)
Note: Candidates appearing in the final year of Degree course are also eligible to apply.
Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Combined Defence Services Examination (I).
