XAT Exam Pattern 2027– XLRI Jamshedpur will release the final exam pattern of XAT 2027, along with official brochure. XAT 2027 exam pattern will consist the number of question asked, total test duration, subjects covered and more. Aspirants must be aware of the complete XAT paper pattern to prepare well for the test. Candidates seeking admission to the XLRI Jamshedpur for the academic session from 2027-29 must take the XAT 2027, also referred as Xavier’s Aptitude Test.

It is conducted to select the eligible candidates for various XLRI Institutes across the country. Based on XAT Scores and the XAT cut off, candidates will be shortlisted. To get the complete hold on XAT exam pattern and the difficulty level of XAT 2027, candidates are suggested to solve maximum number of previous year’s papers & XAT 2027 sample papers.
It is important for the candidates to be well prepared for the written test and score as high as possible in order to get through the test and be allotted a seat in either of the management XLRI institutes.
XAT Exam Pattern 2027
The XAT exam is divided into two papers — Paper 1 and Paper 2 — with a total of 96 questions to be answered in 180 minutes.

- Total Questions: 96
- Total Duration: 170 minutes + 10 Minutes for GK section
- Paper 1 includes multiple-choice questions across three key sections.
- Paper 2 consists of 20 General Knowledge questions with 1 marks for each correct answer. There is no negative marking for XAT.
- The XAT 2027 is a national level online entrance test.
- Paper 1 will have a total of 75 questions. This Paper will include questions on Decision Making, Verbal & Logical Ability and Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation.
- XAT exam duration is 180 minutes. There will be no extra time given to answer the paper.

Marking Scheme for XAT 2026
As per the XAT exam pattern, the marking scheme of the exam is as follows:
- +1 mark for each correct answer.
- -0.25 marks for each incorrect answer in Paper 1.
- No negative marking for General Knowledge section.
- -0.10 marks penalty if more than 8 consecutive questions are left unanswered.
- General Knowledge scores are not counted in the final percentile.
The candidates who qualify the test will be called for counselling which will be conducted online. The XAT result will be put up online on the website for the candidates to check their score. They will need their roll number to check their results on the official XLRI website.
