PSTET Exam Pattern 2019– Punjab State Teacher’s Eligibility Test 2019 will be conducted by Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) in the month of August 2019. To crack the Punjab TET exam, candidates must have the detailed knowledge of PSTET Examination Pattern. There will be two papers, Paper I for classes I to V & Paper II for classes VI to VIII. PSTET 2019 exam pattern includes total number of question asked, test duration, type of questions and more. For the convenience of the candidates, we have provided the details of PSTET 2019 Exam Pattern.

Punjab TET 2019 is an eligibility test for aspirants who want to get recruited on the post of Teacher in Government schools of Punjab. Candidates whose PSTET application form will be accepted before the last date will shortly receive their PSTET admit card.

PSTET Exam Pattern 2019

  • PSTET Exam Paper will consists of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in each paper, with 04 options having 01 correct answer.
  • For every correct answer, one mark will be given and no marks will be deducted for wrong answer as there is no negative marking.
  •  Question paper will be bilingual i.e. English & Punjabi
  •  Duration of both the exam will be 1.30 hours

There will be two papers of PSTET 2019

  • (i) Paper I- Candidates who want to be a teacher for classes I to V can apply for this paper
  • (ii) Paper II- Candidates who want to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII can apply for this paper

Note: If a candidate wantsto be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) then he/she have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

PSTET Exam Pattern 2019 for Paper I

Standard of Paper-1– The questions on Child Development and Pedagogy will emphasis on educational psychology of teaching and learning related to the age group of 6-11 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.

(i) Child Development and Pedagogy 30 MCQs 30 Marks Duration-
1 hour and 30 minutes
(ii) Language I (compulsory) 30 MCQs 30 Marks
(iii) Language II (compulsory) 30 MCQs 30 Marks
(iv) Mathematics 30 MCQs 30 Marks
(iv) Environmental Studies 30 MCQs 30 Marks
  Total  150 MCQs 150 Marks  

PSTET Exam Pattern 2019 for Paper-2

Standard of Paper-2– The questions on Child Development and Pedagogy will emphasis on educational psychology of teaching and learning, related to the age group of 11-14 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics, needs and psychology of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.

(i) Child Development & Pedagogy(compulsory) 30 MCQs 30 Marks Duration-
1 hour and 30 minutes
(ii) Language I (compulsory) 30 MCQs 30 Marks

(iv) Mathematics and Science (for Mathematics and Science teacher) 60 MCQs 60 Marks
(iv) Social Studies/Social Science (for Social Studies/Social Science teacher) 60 MCQs 60 Marks
  Total  150 MCQs 150 Marks  

Candidates must attain a minimum of 60% marks to qualify the PSTET 2019 Exam. Candidates will be able to check their scores and eligibility status in PSTET result.
