SSC CHSL 2018 Exam – Staff Selection Commission will release an official notification of Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination 2018, commonly referred as CHSL Exam, in the month of November 2018. The Commission will hold SSC CHSL 2018 Examination for recruitment to various posts including Lower Divisional Clerk/ Junior Secretariat Assistant, Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant and Data Entry Operator under the Pay Band -1 (Rs. 5200-20200). Aspirants who meet the eligibility conditions can apply for the test. The online application forms will be available for almost 25 days and aspirants need to submit their personal details along with the important documents and application fee before the last date. SSC CHSL 2018 (Tier-1) Examination will be conducted in the month of March 2019. Here, we have summarized all the important information for the ease of candidates. SSC CHSL 2018- Post-wise Pay Scale

  • Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA)- Pay Band -1 (Rs. 5200-20200), Grade Pay: Rs. 1900 (pre-revised)
  • Postal Assistant (PA)/ Sorting Assistant (SA)- Pay Band -1 (Rs. 5200-20200), Grade Pay: Rs. 2400 (pre-revised)
  • Data Entry Operator (DEO)- Pay Band-1 (Rs. 5200-20200), Grade Pay: Rs. 2400 (pre-revised) and
  • Data Entry Operator, Grade ‘A’– Pay Band-1 (Rs. 5200-20200), Grade Pay: Rs. 2400 (pre-revised)

SSC CHSL 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates have to satisfy the complete SSC CHSL eligibility criteria in order apply for the exam. Ineligible candidates won’t be able to fill the application form

Nationality– Candidates should possess a valid ID proof from the Government of India specifying their nationality. Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply. There are a few condition related to the same, read the complete eligibility in the below given link.

Age Limit- Candidates whose age falls in between 18 years- 27 years as on August 01, 2019 are eligible to apply. It also implies that candidates should not be born before 02 August 1992 and not later than 01August 2001. Age Relaxation to candidates belonging to the reserved categories is provided according to the norms of government.

  • SC (Scheduled Caste)/ ST (Scheduled Tribe) Candidates – 5 years
  • OBC (Other Backward Classes) – 3 years
  • PH (Physically Handicapped) – 10 years
  • PH + OBC – 13 years
  • PH + SC/ST – 15 years

Educational Qualification- Candidates who have qualified Intermediate/ Class XII Examination or equivalent from a recognized Board/ University are eligible for the test. If you are applying for the post of Data Entry Operator in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG), then you should have passed class 12th Standard in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject. SSC CHSL 2018 Examination Pattern

The exam pattern of SSC CHSL consists 3 Tiers i.e. Computer Based Examination (Tier-I), Descriptive Paper (Tier-II) and Typing Test/ Skill Test (Tier-III). The computer test will contain the below given sections-

For every wrong answer, 0.50 marks will be deducted from total scores as negative marking.

Tier –II Exam

  • It will be a descriptive Paper of 100 Marks which will be conducted in ‘Pen and Paper Mode.
  • The duration would be for one hour or 60 minutes however, extra 20 minutes will be provided to the physically challenged candidates.
  • The Paper would comprise Essay writing of 200-250 words and Letter/ Application writing of around 150-200 words.
  • The minimum qualifying marks for this test would be 33 per cent.

SSC CHSL 2018 Application Form

The official notification and application form of SSC CHSL 2018 will be issued in the month of November 2018 on the official website, http://ssconline.nic.in, Candidates need to visit the online portal to fill the application form as no physical or an offline form will be issued for the candidates. The SSC CHSL application form will be completed in two parts,

  • Part-I  Submission of Personal and educational details
  • Part-II Uploading of Signature & Photograph

After completing both parts candidates have to remit the application fee, without which no application form will be accepted. Make sure that you will provide the correct and complete information as wrong details can lead to the cancelation of the candidature. Read more.

Application Fee

Candidates have to submit the Rupees one hundred ONLY (Rs. 100/-) through online mode as application fee. Women candidates and candidates belonging to Physically Handicapped, Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, and Ex- Servicemen are exempted from payment of application fee.

SSC CHSL 2018 Admit Card

The admit card will be received by all the applicants whose application will be accepted by the Commission, through post/courier. Applicants can also download the duplicate copy of the CHSL admit card from the regional website for which they have applied.
