SCERT Solan (Himachal Pradesh) will conduct the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) 2026-27 exam on November 1 at 65 test centres across the state. A total of 832 students will be selected for a scholarship of ₹1,000 per month, payable from Class 9th to Class 12th.

NMMS HP 2026-27 Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be currently studying in Class 8th as a regular.
  • Their school type should be a government school, a local body school, or a 95% government-aided private school.
  • The student must have scored at least 55% marks in the Class 8th exam. A relaxation of 5% (i.e., 50%) is available for SC/ST candidates.
  • Parental annual income from all sources must not exceed ₹3,50,000.
  • An income certificate from a competent authority, in the standard prescribed format, must be attached with the application.
  • Candidates applying under the Person with Disability (PWD) category must attach a disability certificate showing at least 40% disability from a competent authority.
  • Students studying in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, or private (non-aided) schools are not entitled to this scholarship.
  • Students studying in Residential Schools run by the Centre or State Government, where boarding, lodging, and education are provided free, are also not eligible.

Continuation of Scholarship (Class IX to XII)

  • The scholarship is renewed yearly for four years only if the student continues studying in a Government, 95% Government-aided, or Local Body school.
  • To continue receiving the scholarship into Class 11th and 12th, the student must score a minimum of 60% marks in Class 10th (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST candidates, i.e., 55%).

NMMS HP 2026 Qualifying Criteria

To be awarded the HP NMMS scholarship, a candidate must pass both MAT and SAT, with a combined (aggregate) score of:

  • At least 40% for the General category
  • At least 32% for the Reserved category
