IIM Seat Matrix 2025: The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) offer over 5500 seats in total for MBA/PGP programs across the country. These seats are filled based on CAT (Common Admission Test) scores, which is conducted annually by one of the IIMs. In 2024, around 2.93 lakh candidates appeared for the CAT exam, competing for limited seats across 21 IIMs.
The IIM Seat Matrix is divided into different categories such as General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, and also includes special reservations for female candidates. This ensures diversity and equal opportunity in management education. After clearing the CAT cut-off, shortlisted students are invited for further rounds like Personal Interview (PI) to secure their place in the IIMs.

IIM Total Seats 2025
The total IIM seats present for combined MBA and PGDM courses are 5500. Almost 27% of seats are reserved for OBC aspirants, 7.4% for ST aspirants, 15% for SC aspirants and 10% for EWS and PwD aspirants out of the total IIM seats. The seat distribution in percentage is detailed below.
