SBI PO Exam Pattern 2026 for Prelims Exam
Phase-I (Preliminary Exam)
- The SBI PO Preliminary Exam will be conducted in online mode only.
- The exam consists 3 sections of Objective Tests for 100 marks.
- Duration of the test would be of 1 hour.
- There will be 0.25 marks negative marking for wrong answer.

To qualify the exam, candidates must attain the subject-wise SBI PO cutoff marks, to be decided by SBI. Candidates who qualify the prelims exam will be called to appear in SBI PO Main Exam 2026.
SBI PO Exam Pattern 2026 for Main Exam
Phase-II (Main Examination)
- The Main exam of SBI PO 2026 contains two different parts i.e Online objective Test followed by Descriptive Test.
- The duration of the objective test is 3 hours
- Online Test comprises 04 sections.

Part-2- Descriptive Test- The Descriptive Test of 30 min. duration with 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). There will be 0.25 marks negative marking for wrong answer except description test.
Phase-3 Group Exercises & Personal Interview
The Group Exercises will be of 20 marks & Interview will hold 30 marks. The aggregate marks attained by the qualified candidates, in both the Objective Tests and Descriptive Test will be listed in descending order. Candidates who attained the SBI PO cutoff marks, as decided by the Bank will be called for Group Discussion and Interview. Candidates who qualify all the three phases will be finally appointed to the post of Probationary Officer.
