GATE Registration 2026 started on August 28. IIT Guwahati released the application form of GATE 2026 on August 28. Eligible candidates must fill and submit the GATE 2026 application form on or before GATE 2026 registration last date. Before filling the GATE registration form, candidates need to check all the GATE eligibility conditions. The exam conducting authority will not entertain any hard copy of GATE 2026 registration form at its postal address. Also, no candidate will be able to download the GATE admit card without successfully submitting the application form of GATE 2026. Other details for the application form has been provided below. GATE 2026 will be conducted on February 7, 8, 14 and 15, 2026 for admission to Master’s programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and in relevant branches of Science. How to Submit GATE Application form 2025 Online?
It is suggested to complete the given step-wise GATE registration 2025 process before the last date. In order to fill and submit their GATE 2025 application form, the candidates can simply follow the points provided below:
Step-1- Online Registration Through GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS)
Candidates have to register on the GOAPS website, available on August 28. To register online, enter a valid e-mail address, mobile number and select a password. The mobile number and email ID should be active and valid.
Step-2- Filling GATE Application Form 2026
Candidates will receive a computer generated enrollment ID and password on their registered email ID after successful registration. Log-in to your account by using GOAPS Enrollment ID and password to access the GATE 2026 application form. Fill all the blank fields with correct information. Below mentioned fields will be available in the application form-
- Personal Details including Name, Parent’s Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number
- Communication Address
- College’s Name and Address
- Qualifying Exam details
- Exam Centres Preference
- GATE Paper
- Details of the valid ID proof (Passport, Voter ID, College ID, PAN card, Aadhaar-UID, Driving License and Employee ID)
Step-3- Upload Required Documents
Candidates have to re-check the filled details for error and make the correction, if required. After that click on the “Submit” tab, a new window will appear on the computer screen where you need to upload the scanned images of photograph and signature in GATE 2026 application form. All the images should be uploaded in JPG format. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/ Pwd category should upload the required certificates issued ONLY by the authorized officials. Specification of documents are given below.
Step-4- Payment of Application Fee
After uploading required document in the GATE application form 2026, candidates should pay the requisite application fee. The application fee will not be refunded in any circumstance. The only mode to pay the application fee is online through net banking or credit card or debit card. Below are the application fee details according to the category of applicants.

Step-5- Download Confirmation Page
After successful submission of GATE 2026 application form, a confirmation page will appear on your screen. Candidates need to download the confirmation page and keep it safe till the completion of admission or recruitment process.
GATE Application Form 2026 Correction
IIT Guwahati will review all the GATE 2026 application forms to check whether the documents are uploaded correctly or not. In case of any error, an intimation to rectify the errors will be sent to the candidates. Applicants have to log-in to their GOAPS account, make the changes and pay a certain fee to in the specified time else, their GATE application form 2026 will be rejected. The GATE form correction will be started in November 2025. Candidates will also be able to change the GATE examination centre.

Photograph Samples
- Upload the good quality recent photograph.
- The photograph’s background should be of white or a light color.
- A photograph with glare on glasses is not be acceptable.
Signature Samples
- The signature should be made with Black or Blue pen only.
- The signature with all capital letters or in any other color will not be accepted
- The maximum size of signature image should be 160×560 in pixels.
