AIIMS which was established in the year 1956 ranks number one among the top medical colleges in India. It provides various medical courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Admission Process
The selection of the candidates is done twice in a year i.e. in January and July. A computer-based screening test is taken for DM courses whereas MD courses selection depends upon the All-India entrance examination.
There is no placement from this college. You can earn up to Rs.75,00,000 per year and every AIIMS graduate can earn a minimum of Rs.50,000.

2. Christian Medical College, Vellore
This College was established by the Christian Medical Association Vellore and it offers various UG and PG courses along with Doctoral courses. Admission to this top medical college can be done by cracking CMC entrance exam. For MBBS program, the college accepts the NEET score for the entrance. The eligibility criteria for doing MBBS in this medical college requires 60% marks in 12th standard along with a decent score in NEET followed by a college level interview.
3. Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), New Delhi
MAMC stands 3nd in the top medical colleges ranking and it was established in 1958. The campus of MAMC is spread over a total area of 122 acres.
Eligibility & Admission
For pursuing MBBS in MAMC, the candidate should have completed 12th in PCB with minimum 50%. Admission to this college can be taken by cracking NEET examination.
4. The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC)
The Institute is governed by Indian Armed Forces and is recognized best among the top medical colleges in India. It was founded in the year 1948 and is ranked 4th in the Top MBBS colleges. More than 6000 students are graduated from this college till now. The college is well known for conducting 5 years along with 6 months teaching internship program in MBBS.
The admission for MBBS program is offered through NEET-UG. The eligible students who have passed their 12th board can apply for this course.
5. Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research, [JIPMER] Puducherry
This medical institute was established in 1964. Various medical courses such as BSc, MBBS, and MPH. are offered by this college. A 4-years MBBS course is offered by JIPMER and out of total 200 seats of JIPMER, 150 is distributed to its Pondicherry branch. The admission in JIPMER by clearing its entrance exam and its application forms can be submitted via official JIPMER portal.
6. Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Mangalore
This Medical College was established in 1955. It was the first self-financing medical college in India and also the first institution of India which followed the Public Private Partnership. KMC offers MBBS program on the basis of NEET/KCET. There are 250 seats for MBBS course in this college. Candidate with 50% marks in the 12th board is eligible to apply for MBBS course in KMC.
7. King’s George Medical University
This medical college has a big name in northern India. It was established in 1911. Prof DK Gupta is the current principal of the university. A number of medical courses are offered by this University such as BHMS, MBBS, MPH, BHA. The admission to UG programs like MBBS is offered on the basis of NEET UG. Eligibility criteria are 50 percent marks in the 12th board.
8. Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College (GSMC), Mumbai
This medical college was established in 1926 and is located in central Mumbai. The institute focusses on the medical education and research-based programmes.
