NEET Preparation 2025- Every year aproun 13 lakh students appeared for NEET exam. Hence, determination and dedication are important to qualify the NEET UG exam. Before you start your NEET Preparation 2025, candidates should understand that the topics will be asked from Class 11 and 12 NCERT syllabus. Also, to qualify the exams, candidates shoud obtain 650+ marks in the entrance test.

How should you prepare for NEET 2025 to get 650+?

You have two years for NEET Preparation. Great. It can do wonders!

Step 1 – Decide: Do you want to join NEET Coaching Classes?

The purpose is to Understand Class 11 and 12 Topics.

Whether you do it by attending your classes sincerely in School or you join NEET Coaching Institute and take regular classes, the purpose is to study Class 11 and 12 syllabus properly. Understanding NCERT concepts and strong base will help you crack NEET with your targeted score.

Step 2 – Understand the value 650/720 & set goals

To score at least 650 out of 720 in NEET, you can set your target subject wise given as below.

  • Physics – 150 out of 180
  • Chemistry – 160 out of 180
  • Biology (Zoology+Botany) – 340 out of 360

Step 3- Make an Effective Study Plan + Routine

Most students make a timetable which they find difficult to follow. Depending on your ability to invest hours daily, make a proper study plan focusing on completing the NEET syllabus well in time of all the three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology. Start with most marks fetching chapters and give more time to understand tough ones. Also keep revising completed topics.

Step 4 – Know Strategy to Study effectively

Following a study plan, completing a syllabus on time and investing hours as per daily routine won’t help if you will not be studying effectively.

To study effectively, here are some subject-wise NEET Preparation tips you should keep in mind:

1. NEET Biology Preparation

As there will be 90 questions in Biology accounting for 50% of the NEET, you need to master it. To achieve your target (340 in Bio), you have to study NCERT by heart. Reading it once and learning the facts won’t work. You need to develop a strong conceptual understanding, explore more than just written, get familiar with terms and practice a lot of mcqs from each chapter.

  • See, understand, memorize all diagrams
  • Understand concepts and quiz yourself what can be asked related to that term
  • Revise things you keep forgetting in one place
  • Practice 100+ MCQs after completing a chapter
  • Solve previous year question papers

2. NEET Chemistry Preparation

There will be 45 questions in NEET Chemistry which can be divided into Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. Chemistry can be the easiest one to cover only if you develop understanding at basic level and then keep revising.

You can begin with Physical Chemistry. Read the concepts of Physical chemistry from NCERT and then practice questions, chapter wise mcqs from question banks. For Inorganic and organic chemistry, you need to memorize formulas, practice daily and revise name reactions on daily basis. If you will not practice, you will forget it. Keep revising names of all the functional groups, how they’re derived, reactions etc.

3. NEET Physics Preparation

NEET Physics is considered toughest. There will be 45 questions in NEET physics too. Start with most important topics.

Mechanics, thermodynamics and kinetic theory, electrodynamics, optics and wave optics, modern physics are really important, contributing to the majority of the paper. Practice different type of questions after studying each chapter from different sources.

Step 5 – Prepare Short Notes, Mind maps, Flowcharts for Revision

When you study a topic, prepare short notes, mind maps, flow charts for summarizing topic and highlighting important points. Paste it on your wall to look at it daily. This will help you understand topics better and revise quickly in the last 2–3 months.

Step 6- Check your preparation with Weekly & Monthly Tests

Along with studying concepts and solving mcqs, you have to test your preparation and analyze your performance. Take tests weekly or bi weekly of whatever chapters you complete in that period. It will help you know about your weak areas and you will get familiar with the difficulty level of questions asked in NEET exam.

Step 7 – Discuss your Doubts with Teachers & Friends

Doubt clearing sessions are very important. While studying a topic or solving question papers, you may find problems. Note problems and difficult topics and discuss it with friends or take help of teachers. Discussing problems and clearing doubts will help you a lot in understanding concepts.

Step 8 – Solve Previous Year NEET question papers & Mock tests

At this stage, you will be pretty confident about your basics and completing syllabus. Now another challenge is awaiting in your NEET preparation journey and that is Time management and Speed.

You will have to solve 180 questions in 180 minutes.

To increase your speed and accuracy of solving questions, take mock tests in one go. Solving previous year question papers and taking mock tests will also help you identify your weak areas, your potential scores, your performance level so that you can maximize your score.

9. Stay Relaxed & Motivated

There will be times when you may get distracted from your goal. You stop following study plan or lose interest. There will be days when you will get stressed and feel low. All you have to do is Keep Going.

NEET preparation requires hard work, consistent efforts and dedication. It is not going to be easy at all but it’s wise to dedicate your 2 years completely rather than wasting another 2 years in giving more NEET attempts.
