Maharashtra RTE Admissions 2025-26: The Maharashtra School Education Department has released the application form for Right to Education (RTE) admissions 2025-26. Details of 25% Reservation under RTE
In line with the notification, children from economically weaker sections (EWS) and other marginalized groups will receive 25% reservation in schools across Maharashtra, including self-financed, unaided, police welfare, and municipal schools. This 25% reservation is part of Section 12(C)(1) of the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, aimed at providing equal opportunities for education to children from underprivileged backgrounds.

Children whose annual family income is less than Rs 1 lakh are considered part of the economically weaker section (EWS) and are eligible to apply for the 25% reserved seats.
How to Apply for Maharashtra RTE Admission 2025?
Parents wishing to apply for the reserved seats under RTE must visit the official website- student.maharashtra.gov.in and check the detailed notification before filling the form. Complete details of application fee, document required and other details are mentioned.
- School Selection: During the application process, parents can choose up to 10 schools for their child. The distance between the selected schools and the home should be accurately calculated using Google Maps. The home location can be adjusted up to five times using the balloon feature on the application portal.
- Accuracy of Information: Parents must ensure that all information provided in the application is accurate, including home address, date of birth, income certificate, caste certificate, and disability certificate (if applicable). Any incorrect or false information will result in the cancellation of the application.
- Submission Guidelines: Applications should be submitted within the designated time frame. It is advised to complete the application early to avoid any technical issues or delays, especially on the last submission day due to internet connectivity. Only one application per child is permitted—multiple submissions will lead to disqualification.
