The motive behind the declaration of the CMAT 2018 Cutoff marks is to select the qualified candidates from the total number of candidates those who all have applied for the exam. As the number of vacant seats is limited therefore the cut off marks are declared to select the qualified candidates.
The cutoff marks are decided after examining various facts related to the exam. A team of officials go through such aspects and then finally declare the cutoff marks. The various points considered by them includes total number of candidates applied for the exam, difficulty level of the exam, total vacancies, reservation norms, previous year cutoff marks, etc. In general, not much difference is there in the cutoff marks of two consecutive years.
The Cut off of CMAT 2018 will be released separately by the AICTE affiliated institutes and the AICTE has no role in deciding the cut off marks. The candidates can apply for only those institutes for which they are eligible as per their marks and the CMAT cut off marks of the institute. The candidates can also check the expected CMAT 2018 cut off marks for the different institutes. Along with the scores, the institute will also consider the overall profile of the candidate. In general, the pre-admission criteria includes group discussion, written test and the personal interview round. However, the selection process may differ in the different institutes.
